Betty Davis Christmas Cookies

Butterscotch cookies



1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar 
(I use dark, for a richer flavor)
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. vanilla

Form into small one inch balls.
Press top with either pecans or cut candied cherries.
Bake in a slow oven at 275 degrees for 15-20 minutes 
until set. Check at 15 minutes. Cookies should not be hard but soft. Once they come out of the oven they slowly firm up.

Welcome to my Davis-Matteson Family Recipe Blog

This starts the first day of my new blog, Family Recipes. Several years ago I set up a web page www.janedavis.org and shared my family and friends favorite recipes. It became quite a hit and still is to this day. It all started when I wanted to share my mother's phenomenal recipes with my family. Now, friends of family and friends of friends visit this site, especially during holiday times. I eventually added many family members favorite recipes to the site and it keeps growing!
