Butterscotch cookies
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar (I use dark, for a richer flavor)
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Form into small one inch balls.
Press top with either pecans or cut candied cherries.
Bake in a slow oven at 275 degrees for 15-20 minutes
until set. Check at 15 minutes. Cookies should not be hard but soft. Once they come out of the oven they slowly firm up.
